SouthMACH 2013:Latest in machining software

Delcam Australia will at SouthMach 2013 exhibit the latest developments in machining and inspection software. Demonstrations will include Delcam’s 2013 software series of advanced manufacturing solutions including large screen presentations with new functionality in PowerMILL, PowerINSPECT, FeatureCAM and PartMaker. The company is appearing on Stand 58.

Delcam PIC 2A new module has been made available for the latest version of Delcam’s PowerINSPECT inspection software that allows the software to create efficient inspection sequences for use on dual-column CNC coordinate-measuring machines. This development continues the drive to make PowerINSPECT the preferred inspection software for all types of metrology equipment.

A ground breaking new feature in CNC machining is the new Vortex and MachineDNA software that is currently available in PowerMILL but is also being integrated into FeatureCAM and PartMaker.

Vortex is a new machining strategy that can save up to 60% in machining time, double cutter life and at the same time improve surface finish.

Vortex is used with Machine DNA a unique utility that checks the machines motion performance and is then used by Vortex to optimise the machine performance. MachineDNA is a software utility that is run on the machines controller and the machine performance data is feed back into the Vortex software and used to optimise the toolpath for machining time and tool life.
