 The Vantage eddy current flaw detector is a hand-held, fully featured eddy current flaw detector for use in the NDT, Aerospace, Off-shore, Petrochemical, Power and Rail/axle inspection industries. Rapid defect detection is made easy by the clear colour display (320 x 240 pixels) and a simple side-bar menu allowing direct access to key instrument parameters, with the option of instantly switching to full-screen mode. The menu system is intuitive and any experienced Eddy Current operator will be comfortable with the instrument in no-time. Weighing-in at only 0.8kg, the Vantage is housed in a robust ABS enclosure, meeting IP.65 rating. The included reporting software and USB cable makes for efficient documentation of results.                

The tube and profile cold bending machine CNC 220 HD MW (pictured) is able to process tubes with maximum diameter of 219.1 by 12.7 millimetres – at a tube length of up to 6 metres.   Tube production for ships, the chemical industry or power plant construction is associated with huge quantities. Central production processes such as bending the many different tube types need to be highly efficient. Frequent and long conversion work on the bending machine is a criterion that has the potential to bring production to a standstill. The CNC 220 HD MW tube and profile cold bending machine tackles this task highly efficiently with one multiple bending tool. At the same time, the plant’s measuring system ensures accuracy. If a user has to convert the machine every time a new tube bend is to be produced, the total production would be much too time-consuming and drawn out.   The IML Watcher Inspection machine is a quality control system for In-Mould Labelling of injection moulded and blow moulded products, particularly for decorated parts such as bottles, cups, lids and pails. The system can be integrated seamlessly into the automation robot of most injection moulding machines, therefore supporting the fastest cycle times and is used to detect typical errors relating to the IML process such as label offset, angular rotation, print errors, label identification, back injection mouldings and holes. The IML Watcher is equipped with a minimal number of cameras and special lighting units that inspect multiple cavity products at very high speeds with excellent accuracy and repeatability. Scrap rates are minimized by the accurate ejection of defective parts from the line and alarm trending software. The machine can check other types of labels such as wrapped, glued or base labels, even when they come in a ‘no-label look’ style. The machine can inspect up to 10 objects per second with a simultaneous shot evaluation.

AHC proactively tests and verifies WLAN network health from the end-user device all the way to the cloud and identifies issues before they impact the organisation. In addition, the SmartEdge sensor has been completely redesigned with a ‘fade-into-the background’ enclosure, an integrated drop ceiling mount and recessed cable entry. The sensor also features increased memory capacity and support for 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet.    

A new series of options for three-axis milling and enhancements in five-axis machining have been added to FeatureCAM feature-based CAM software. The 2013 release also includes improvements in the turning and mill-turn modules. FeatureCAM was the world’s first feature-based programming software when it was launched in 1995. Constant development since then has ensured that the system has retained its leadership in programming speed and ease of use, while an increased range of strategies has been added to provide more efficient toolpaths giving greater productivity on a wider range of machines. The main change to the 2013 FeatureCAM product family has been the introduction of three levels of 3D machining functionality. FeatureMILL 3D Lite offers single-surface machining with a basic range of strategies and so provides an introductory product for companies moving into 3D machining for the first time. FeatureMILL 3D MX provides a greater number of strategies, including spiral finishing, flowline finishing and rotary machining, support for multiple-surface machining and automated feature recognition. It is aimed at companies with conventional machine tools and those that are machining softer materials. FeatureMILL HSM also contains all of the options for rest machining, such as pencil machining and corner clearance, and high-speed machining, including trochoidal machining and DelcamÕs patented Race Line Machining. It maximises the benefits of any investment in high-speed mills with strategies that maximise machine productivity while protecting the part, machine and cutter from excessive wear. A recent innovation is a compact hand-held L.E.D light that fits neatly in the palm of the hand and has a handy foldaway hook/stand. Just released in New Zealand, the ‘Palm’ Light (Part No. 71304) is designed to be tough, compact and weather resistant, with a lens that is made from virtually unbreakable polycarbonate. In spite of the small size, it produces an amazing wide-angle light output from 15 high intensity Light Emitting Diodes and its powerful lithium-ion battery provides four hours of continuous use before recharging. Included in the pack are 240V and 12/24V charging units.
